Luxury Air: Final Presentation

Luxury Air: Final Presentation

Sahil Khosla

The project we were designated with was luxury air. The way we went about doing this was pretty simple. We designed a contraption that could create and release pure oxygen in an otherwise oxygen scarce region. This could be a heavily air polluted city, the depths of the ocean, or even on some celestial body. It's luxury because it's a commodity in those designated regions. We also toyed around with the idea of making a 'luxury' version of our project, which would be made from the best materials and rather expensive, along with an inferior 'budget-oriented,' project for more impoverished region, similar to the current situations of smartphones.
The way our contraption works is pretty simple. Inside a backpack, we have some sort of sealed water reservoir. Through a process known as electrolysis, we split the molecules of the stored water into hydrogen and oxygen, and then can use that oxygen for our 'luxury air.' It would then be funneled by a fan and tubing into a mask, which is designed to be sleek and almost minimalistic. As of right now, our project has no functioning electrolysis, and we have not finished our electric component (the entire thing was supposed to be activated by a face detecting thing on our mask).
